Group Coaching and Support

Take the first step

What is group coaching?

Whether you’re new to sobriety or you’ve been here a while, why not join me and a small group of people at all stages of recovery.  We discuss a new topic in each group session, we support each other, build connection and strengthen our community.

I find the group work magical. Looking at the Johari Window model we start to gain self-awareness in different areas of ourselves. The group is safe and secure for people to share.  There is no pressure to share or even to have your camera on. You can go at your own pace.

I struggled with depression

Before I started working with Georgia, I struggled with depression and resorted to alcohol to manage my melancholic fatigue when nothing else seemed to work. But I’m so glad I booked onto her support group. Georgia helped me to establish and prioritise a regular sobriety practice in realistic and manageable bite-sized chunks. It’s changed the way I perceive my addiction and has given me a sense of optimism for my future. Now, I feel much less overwhelmed and have replaced self-criticism with curious self-reflection—now recognising my drinking as a misguided act of kindness—an ineffective attempt to numb the desperation and powerlessness I was feeling. I’d highly recommend Georgia’s support group if you need help discovering a pathway out of the struggle with destructive drinking and the despair of a mere existence instead of a life full of possibilities.

Safe & Welcome Space

I am happy to recommend Georgia’s sobriety support meetings. She provides a safe and welcoming space where we can share our worries and difficulties as well as our successes, no matter how small. Georgia is a warm, friendly and sympathetic coach, who understands only too well the difficulties of achieving sobriety but also the benefits and joy to be had. You can expect helpful suggestions about possible ways forward, things to read or listen to and positive approaches to the issues you bring. All are welcome, and there is a core of regulars so that once you join a second time you will be meeting some people you know. The groups are not too large either so that there is time for everyone. Being part of a group really makes a difference.

Connection and Clarity

Before I started going to Georgia’s support meetings, my biggest challenge was connection & clarity. Finding a regular place to check in with other people in recovery & doing the work to maintain a sober mindset and perspective, as well as a sober lifestyle. But I’m so happy I started attending her support groups. They’ve become a key factor in my weekly routine. Georgia’s perspective always helps bring clarity to the challenges of daily life in recovery & signposts what the best next move might be. No matter what’s going on, Georgia’s empathy & humour & professionalism make the support meetings a joyful place to go. Couldn’t recommend her services enough.

Calm Presence

Georgia has been a great help in my journey. For someone who is "a grey area drinker" it was very difficult for me to see that I did indeed have a problem, because everyone around me was saying the contrary. Doing the emotional work is a lot like experimenting with new ideas. Georgia has a calm presence and gives great guidelines or ideas about how one can think of a stressful situation differently. I have learnt an enormous amount from Georgia, from the easy ones like how to calm racing thoughts to more difficult ones like when to recognize your relationship is one sided/ empty/ not strong.

A Real Connection

I met Geogia as a fellow traveler on the journey of sobriety. I found her kind and insightful so when I heard she was becoming a recovery coach. I knew that she would be a great resource and an insightful leader. As I have attended the meetings she has lead I saw that this feeling was true for she is a great help on my personal journey and I also see all the others she helps. They say the opposite of addiction is connection and Georgia has helped me connect not only with others in recovery but also with myself.
